Can maps and plans be scanned?
Finding the space to store large maps and plans for long periods of time can be challenging for any organisation. Government regulations decree that such documents need to be retained and companies, for example, involved in construction or engineering must comply with the legislation.
The solution to this problem is to store the maps and plans electronically so that they can be easily retrieved and viewed on a PC screen. Large format scanning, however, is best outsourced as specialist scanning equipment and experience is required. The scanners can cater for all sizes of documents – A2, A1 and even A0 and can scan in colour grayscale or black and white. Fragile documents also need careful handling and experienced scanning operatives have been trained to deal with such material.
