The IPC Group launches a new photograph and memorabilia scanning service.
IPC has recently started to promote its new service which is the scanning of photographs and other paper based memorabilia.
Most families have collections of old photographs and other personal items such as certificates, greeting cards, diaries etc. which hold very precious memories. Preserving this material for future generations is vitally important and the best way to do this is to have it scanned so it can be stored electronically.
IPC now offers a personal service to scan and preserve such treasured records. The team in the scanning bureau will scan individual photographs, albums and other material and will deliver the images either on CD, DVD or a Memory Stick. The photographs are scanned at 600 dpi to ensure high quality results and they can be named in accordance with a customer’s instructions.
Not only does scanning preserve the material but it also enables families and friends to view and share it online, a previously impossible experience when the memorabilia was stored in boxes and drawers!
Graham Light, the Director of The IPC Group commented: ‘The concept of preserving photographs and memorabilia was born out of a personal experience. Meeting up with family members following a bereavement, it suddenly became clear that many of them had never seen some collections of family photographs and other documents which directly related to their own lives. Hence there were copious requests to scan and email copies to people all over the world. At the same time, it made me realise the importance of safeguarding such treasured memories for the future and I am delighted that we are able to help people do this.’
